April King, MSN, CRNA, Co-Founder, Director, President and CEO, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from San Diego State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from University of Southern California, with academic distinction cum laude. She has delivered anesthesia for over 10 years at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, San Diego, the Balboa Navy Hospital, San Diego, various private oral and plastic surgery offices, and as a volunteer with the San Diego Interface group. She has also educated and trained student CRNAs at Kaiser and in the military. This has given her first-hand experience with the risks and difficulties of providing safe anesthesia care in patients who are breathing on their own under light anesthesia, and the challenge of teaching health care providers how to maintain a patent airway in sedated patients. This experience provided the impetus for the invention and development of the JED®.

Richard Slansky

Richard B. Slansky has served as a member of the Hypnoz Therapeutic Devices, Inc. Board of Directors since May, 2014.  He has been assisting with financial and operational matters and is acting as the Company’s Treasurer and Chair of the Audit Committee.  He is a senior executive with a respected financial and operational leadership style, a background and experience in both public & private companies in commercial healthcare, medical devices & high technology environments.  He has excellent communication and influencing skills with both strategic and tactical abilities.  He has had responsibility for: strategic vision creation and oversight of financial and operational teams; organizational leadership and development; building strong interdisciplinary teams; conflict resolution; and, creating maximum shareholder value.  Mr. Slansky has excellent collaboration and partnering skills at all organizational levels. He has developed organizational excellence through continuous improvement, process modification and personnel development. Mr. Slansky has a successful track record of raising capital, developing innovative solutions & building team consensus to drive results.

Mr. Slansky is currently the Chief Financial Officer of OncoSec Medical Incorporated, a public biotechnology/immuno-oncology company.  Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer of GenMark Diagnostics from April 2012 to September 2014. Prior to GenMark, Mr. Slansky served as Chief Financial Officer of Digirad Corporation, a publicly held specialty nuclear medical device company, from March 2009 to April 2012. Mr. Slansky also served as President, Chief Financial Officer, Director, and Corporate Secretary of SpaceDev, Inc., a publicly held space technology and aerospace company. Mr. Slansky joined SpaceDev, Inc. in February 2003 as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary. In November 2004, Mr. Slansky was appointed as President and Director of SpaceDev, Inc.  Mr. Slansky has held other executive and financial positions.  Mr. Slansky serves on the Board of two other private high technology companies.  Mr. Slansky earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with a concentration in decision science from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and a master’s degree in business administration in finance and accounting from the University of Arizona.

Joseph has worked with entrepreneurs and management teams at emerging growth companies to build successful businesses.  His clients benefit from his extensive legal and business experience as they build their companies.  He provides contacts with capital sources and expertise in negotiating and documenting seed and preferred stock rounds of capital formation.

Joseph represented public and private companies in corporate securities and M&A transactions, bankruptcy and workouts, licensing, joint ventures and commercial agreements. He has had experience as a regulator having worked in the Division of Corporation Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.  He also has entrepreneurial experience as the member of a management team in an emerging growth company and as an investor in such companies. Joseph is versed in managing commercial, employment, intellectual property and securities litigation for his clients.

Joseph has advised companies in all aspects of compliance with the securities laws, including public and private securities offerings.

Joseph has represented companies in various types of mergers and acquisitions transactions and assisted clients in selling their businesses. These engagements include assisting clients in building a team for the transaction.  He also assisted clients in evaluating and retaining investment bankers and accounting firms.  Joseph participated with the client to organize a team in such a way that the company can respond to diligence requests and efficiently manage the transactional process.  He has also represented buyers in the acquisition of businesses.

Joseph serves to advise boards of directors on a wide variety of the corporate governance issues including mergers and acquisitions and internal investigations.
